Get the gun through the right route
Gun unlocks and combat are different decisions. An eligible community gift provides an SMG, while the Minigun appears as a later battle purchase using money saved during the fight. A Gems balance for a class is not automatically the budget for that gun. Work out the access route before comparing weapons you cannot yet equip.
Once a gun is available, let its firing pattern inform your play. Burst fire is different from continuous automatic fire, and a weapon change does not remove the need for an escape route.
